Advisory Board
In order to ensure that CAPA remains at the forefront of industry research and analysis, we are honoured to be able to draw upon the expertise of a distinguished Advisory Board, headed by our Executive Chairman, with vast experience in the aviation industry and academia.
- Peter Harbison: is Executive Chairman and Founder of the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation, and is regarded as one of the leading aviation strategists globally. His career in aviation law and regulatory affairs included a posting to the Australian mission to the International Civil Aviation Organisation in Montreal, and 10 years at a senior level at the International Air Transport Association in Geneva. Mr Harbison is President of the Australian Aviation Council and immediate past President of the Aviation Law Association of Australia and New Zealand.
- John Ward: Mr Ward had a distinguished 25 year career with Qantas Airways, culminating as Managing Director & CEO of the airline. He subsequently joined News Limited as GM Commercial, a position which he held for seven years. He is Interim Chairman of Brisbane Airport Holdings, a Director of Adelaide Airport, Chairman of Wolseley Private Equity and an Honorary Life Governor of the Research Foundation of Information Technology.
- Bob Cain: Managing Director of Tourism Futures International, Bob was formerly Strategic Planning Director at Qantas Airways Limited. Bob is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He holds a Science degree (Hons) from the University of NSW, a Graduate Diploma in Social Sciences from Stockholm University and a Masters degree in Economics from Macquarie University.
- Nawal Taneja: For more than 35 years Dr. Taneja, has been contributing to the airline industry, having advised the boards of major global carriers in the areas of strategic and tactical planning. He has also worked with civil aviation authorities on liberalisation, bilateral agreements and privatisation. Dr. Taneja has served as Professor and Chairman of the Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Department at Ohio State University, and as an Associate Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

CAPA India
The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation established an office in New Delhi in 2003. In a short space of time, CAPA India has become recognised as the leading specialist consulting, advisory and knowledge practice in South Asia. In addition to our core aviation consulting activities, we now also offer capital advisory services and are in the advanced stages of planning a world class aviation training campus in India, the CAPA Aeropark.

CAPA Consulting (formerly part of the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) is now licensed to Miller Aviation Partners. CAPA Consulting is a privately-owned, multi-service aviation group established in Sydney. Its primary focus is consulting in the global and regional aviation industries, particularly the Asia/Pacific region, the Middle East and Africa with clients across four main segments of the market: airlines; airports; government; and investors.
