Air France-KLM shares gained 1.5% as it announced it would reduce capacity (ASKs) for the Summer Season 2010 by 0.9% year-on-year.
The airline also confirmed that, at the end of the season, its long-haul fleet (with the exception of B777s operating on the Caribbean-Indian Ocean network and the A380s in service) will be fitted with the new Premium Voyageur (Premium Economy) cabin class.
Lufthansa’s shares meanwhile gained 1.1% as reports emerged that the carrier may be seeking the assistance of a mediator to broker an agreement with pilots to avoid a possible strike. See related report: Ryanair and easyJet keep rising, but investors shrug off strikes at full service rivals
Meanwhile, British Airways shares eased 0.2%, while Iberia fell 0.6% yesterday.
