And then there were two: Wataniya Airways suspends operations

Kuwait’s premium focused Wataniya Airways suspended all operations on 16-Mar-2011 and there are few indications the carrier will return. The airline announced its board will now enter a process to determine the future of the company and has requested a halt to its share trading. The carrier cited its financial position, as well as the political and security situation in the Middle East region, as reasons for the decision. [1067 words]
