Australia sets date for ADS-B upper airspace introduction

Australia has set a date of 12-Dec-2013 for the introduction of automatic dependent surveillance – broadcast (ADS-B) in its upper airspace. The ADS-B system is an advanced surveillance technology that combines a satellite positioning service, aircraft avionics, and ground infrastructure to enable more accurate transmission of information between equipped aircraft and air traffic control.
