
British Airways OpenSkies Paris-New York airline: beginning of new era - or just another error?

When British Airways’ new OpenSkies service pushes back from the gate at Paris’ user-friendly Orly Airport at 1055 this morning, bound for New York JFK, it becomes a living example of the potential of the recent Open Skies agreement between the US and the EU. But, coming close on the heels of the collapse of a handful of all-Business Class airlines, this operation – also using older, fuel-thirsty, B757 aircraft - might seem to be another venture doomed to fail.
