
Denver handles a ‘rocky’ year comfortably as it records a small revenue and passenger increase

In what was a difficult year for airlines and airports alike in the US, Denver International Airport (DIA) will be relieved to have been able to report a small revenue increase of 2% in 2008, thanks to a 2.8% increase in passenger traffic, though operating profit fell by over 30% as maintenance expenses mounted. The nation’s most recent large hub airport is now 15 years old and has undergone some major repairs that impacted on operating profit.
