Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority: Greek ATCOs strike again

Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs) in Greece once again went on strike in late Jun-2009, protesting inadequate and unreliable technical systems, which they claim are a danger during heavy air traffic periods, including ground to air communications and radar systems. The controllers have staged strikes and stoppages of varying intensity and length since the start of the year, in part due to the general industrial unrest in the country, affecting the operations of both major Greek carriers, as well as other international airlines.
