New Ground Based Augmentation System to be tested at Newark to relieve congestion

As efforts by the US Department for Transportation (DoT) and US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to use slot auctions to relieve congestion in New York languish in the courts, other efforts to avert delays in the region have been welcomed by airlines and passengers. The three major New York airports (Newark, LaGuardia and JFK) represent the busiest aviation system in the country. [1035 words]
