
Sama threatens to exit Saudi Arabian domestic market

Since its launch in early 2007, Sama has not been shy of voicing its difficulties of operating as a pioneering low cost carrier in the newly liberalised Saudi Arabian market. Faced with competition from previous monopoly provider, Saudi Arabian Airlines, and fellow Saudi LCC, nas air, which launched operations a few months prior to Sama, the carrier has been hard pressed, not only by its competition, but also by lingering structural issues within its home market.
