Samar Majali leaves profitable legacy at Royal Jordanian
Royal Jordanian’s (RJ) new President and CEO, Hussein Dabbas, was officially appointed on 29-Jul-2009 and is due to take up his new position on 01-Aug-2009. He inherits a carrier that is vastly stronger than the one his predecessor, Samer Majali, did in 2001. Mr Majali leaves Royal Jordanian (to join the struggling Gulf Air) as a profitable and thoroughly modernised carrier, with a new fleet, a revamped and expanded network, and a reworked service ethos. Its future as regional and global player has been enhanced immensely with its admission into oneworld, becoming the first Middle East carrier to gain entry into a global airline alliance. [700 words]
