Where next for Qatar Airways’ fleet? Bombardier CSeries order imminent?

Over the past five years, Qatar Airways has expanded its fleet from 40 to 82 aircraft. It plans to add another 38 aircraft by 2013, maintaining a delivery schedule of better than one aircraft per month. With 145 aircraft on firm order, Qatar Airways sits on one of the largest aircraft order backlogs of any airline in the world. Yet, it is apparently not satisfied with its current fleet plan, and has been examining several options for its fleet development in recent months, particularly its freighter and narrowbody fleets.
