Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil - ANAC) auctioned a concession to build and operate an airport in Rio Grande do Norte state on 22-Aug-2011 (Reuters, 22-Aug-2011). Inframerica, a venture formed by Engevix and Corporacion America, paid BRL170 million (USD106 million) for the rights and committed to a minimum investment of BRL650 million (USD405 million) ahead of three other bidders. The concession is the first in a plan to let private companies build and operate five major airports as it prepares for the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics.
