Cloud of volcanic ash over Europe: Luxair Luxembourg Airlines and LuxairTours flights

Direct News Source

19-Apr-2010 No flights will take off in Luxembourg before 10 am on Tuesday.

The repatriation of stranded passengers is the main priority for Luxair and LuxairTours at this time. For Tuesday, an alternative flight schedule has been set up, attached, which is aimed at bringing home as many travellers as possible. These schedules can be found on www.luxair.lu.

It is expected that the pick-up of air traffic will be marked by some delays and cancellations due to traffic rights, slot allocations and schedules.

In view of the considerable number of passengers concerned, bus services from destinations will be maintained to provide as much assistance as possible simultaneously.

Luxair still asks its customers to consult the arrival and departure notices on the www.luxair.lu website for their flight's status. If a flight is cancelled, we ask customers to not travel to the airport.

The resumption of flights still depends on the development of the volcanic ash cloud. Currently, there is no certainty on flight operations, and there will be no previous night check-in tonight.

Luxair Luxembourg Airlines is closely monitoring the situation. Any information updates will be given via the press and www.luxair.lu.

Our Customer Relations department can be reached at (+352) 2456-4242 for rebooking or refund information. This call center will not be able to give any information on bus repatriation formalities and schedules.

All Customers Service teams have been reinforced; however seeing the high number of people requiring assistance, we ask our customers to be patient and thank them for their understanding.
