ACI-NA applauds selection of Duane Woerth to be the U.S. Ambassador to ICAO

02-Jul-2010 Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) President Greg Principato issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s announcement today of his intent to nominate Duane E. Woerth as the U.S. Ambassador to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

"I applaud the nomination of Duane Woerth. With Duane's background in aviation, he is well qualified to represent the interests of the United State in ICAO as it focuses on the critical concerns of safety, security, environmental and other aviation issues."

Airports Council International is the official airport organization representative to ICAO, which is based in Montréal. ACI-NA is active working both with ACI and the U.S. government in expressing the concerns of U.S. airports in the ICAO deliberations.
