07-Sep-2010 Tropical Storm Hermine continues to bring severe weather to the Houston area, including heavy rains and strong gusts of wind.

As a result, airports across Texas are experiencing delays and/or cancellations with both arriving and departing flights, and this includes the flight schedules found at both George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and William P. Hobby (HOU) Airports.

Passengers are encouraged to contact their chosen air carrier for detailed information concerning the status of their particular flight. The information may be obtained by visiting the airlines' Web site, along with valuable information on whether or not weather-impacted flights can be re-booked without change fees.

Flash flood warnings were issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) at 12:35 p.m. on September 7, indicating that flash flooding was likely in areas ranging from Southern Harris County to the city's far North side where IAH is located.

The storm, which passed through the San Antonio, TX area on Tuesday afternoon, is reportedly affecting flight operations in a host of different cities, including but not limited to: Austin, TX; San Antonio, TX; Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Miami, FL; West Palm Beach, FL Chicago, IL; Newark, NJ and San Francisco, CA.
