Passenger numbers continue to soar at Monarch – traffic figures, Oct-2010

01-Nov-2010 Leading leisure airline Monarch saw passenger numbers continue to soar in October as holiday makers escaped to sunshine hotspots across Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Cyprus and Turkey.

During the month, the airline carried almost 428,000 scheduled passengers - its highest ever number for October - and recorded a record breaking October load factor of 89.05%.

The top performing routes during October were the Spanish mainland hotspots of Alicante and Malaga, which recorded load factors of 93.58% and 93.36% respectively, plus the Canary Island of Lanzarote, with a load factor of 93.22%.

Monarch's passenger statistics for scheduled services during October 2010:

1. Represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of seats available for passengers.

2. Represents the number of earned seats flown by Monarch. Earned seats include seats that are flown whether or not the passenger turns up because once a flight has departed a no-show customer is not entitled to change flights or seek a refund.
