Groupe Dubreuil, parent company of Air Caraïbes, announced (24-Jun-2015) plans to launch a new low-cost long-haul operator in Jun-2016, with the working title of Sunline. The carrier will be based at Paris Orly and will initially operate one A330-300 aircraft. Groupe Dubreuil stated: "This new company - code named 'Sunline' - will be based on a new model of low-cost long-haul carrier, offering advanced technological equipment (WiFi and Video) for its passengers. The creation of this airline subsidiary of the Group Dubreuil strengthens Air Caraïbes, the air division of the Group." The company will announce the brand name for its new carrier "in the coming months", in addition to aircraft configurations, routes, fares and its distribution policy. Groupe Dubreuil chairman Jean-Paul Dubreuil said: "For 12 years, our Group has proven, through the success of Air Caraïbes, its expertise in the field of long-haul air transport. In a dynamic global market, we believe that there is a place in France for a solid carrier, dedicated to long-haul routes with heavy traffic, and able to generate competitive prices while providing superior customer service. A company founded on completely new bases, equipped with the most efficient aircraft, backed by a strong and competent private group, has every chance to succeed and contribute to the development of French air transport."
