Air France announces senior management reshuffle and organisation-wide restructure

Air France announced (02-Dec-2016) the following senior management restructuring:

  • Alain-Hervé Bernard becomes COO and accountable manager, replacing Schramm in the latter responsibility from 01-Jan-2017. He will remain in charge of the medium-haul business unit until the implementation of the change of organisation and create a blueprint for a new organisational structure within a month. He will be responsible for flight operations, inflight service and the cargo division;
  • Alain Malka becomes EVP of HOP! Air France, replacing Lionel Guérin;
  • Anne Rigail is appointed EVP-customer from 01-Jan-2017;
  • Gilles Gateau will remain in his position of EVP-human resources;
  • Jérôme Nanty becomes EVP-corporate secretary and transformation, handling legal, public affairs, sustainable development and transformation;
  • Marc Verspyck remains EVP-finance and will be responsible for improving competitiveness;
  • Pierre-Olivier Bandet is appointed EVP-fleet and scheduling. Within a month, he has to produce a plan re-casting the scheduling and management of the Air France group fleet. He will also be in charge of preparing implementation of the Boost project, which aims to create a long-haul, lower-cost airline. The person ultimately in charge of Boost will be appointed soon.
  • Gilles Laurent remains EVP-flight operations;
  • Eric Caron becomes EVP-inflight services, replacing Anne Rigail from 01-Jan-2017;
  • Elisabeth Hérelier becomes EVP-cargo activity, replacing Alain Malka;
  • Anne Brachet joins the Air France-KLM group as EVP-engineering & maintenance, replacing Franck Terner; and
  • Jean-Charles Tréhan remains SVP-communication.

Air France CEO Franck Terner said, "Air France's current organisation has enabled us to make progress, particularly in terms of improving customer relations and the quality of our products and services, and this must be continued. However, it also has widely recognized limits and complexities. I have therefore decided to initiate a project to change the organisation of Air France, enabling us to drive our Trust Together ambition". Mr Terner said the new organisation "better reflect its priorities" clarify responsibilities and simplify operating methods.
