OAG: scheduled capacity in N America increased 2% over last five years, 4% in past 12 months

OAG EVP data and market intelligence John Grant, speaking at the CAPA Americas Aviation Summit, reported (28-Apr-2015) scheduled capacity in North America increased 2% over the last five years and 4% in the last 12 months. North America's share of total global capacity decreased from 24.7% to 21.7% between 2011 and 2015. The three largest US carriers account for 13% of global capacity. The US is expected to remain the world's largest aviation market for six to seven years before being replaced by China.
