About

Waqf Airlines was a proposed Malaysian carrier by Air Riths Sdn Bhd. The airline intended to provide Shariah-compliant charter services and will operate pilgrimage services to Saudi Arabia with A330-300s configured with 300 to 350 seats in two classes. Air Riths secured an air service permit in Jan-2016 and applied for an air operator's certificate. It secured approval to subsidise operations with donations from Selangor Islamic Council subsidiary Perbadanan Wakaf Selangor. Waqf Airlines was expected to launch service operations in Nov-2016. The airline failed to launch service operations.
