Avinor is responsible for planning, developing and operating the Norwegian airport network. Avinor operates 46 airports in Norway (12 in cooperation with the armed forces). The company is self-financing and was established as a limited company, wholly owned by the state, on 01-Jan-2003. The ownership is administered by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The company was formerly the administrative company Luftfartsverket.
Oslo Lufthavn AS is a wholly-owned subsidiary and has its own managing director.
