Sandefjord Airport, Torp (also known as Oslo-Torp) is an international airport serving near Sandefjord, Norway. The airport serves Sandefjord and the surrounding eastern Norway region. Despite being located 118km south of Oslo, the airport is often marketed at Oslo-Torp and it is a popular low-cost alternative to Oslo Airport, Gardermoen. The LCC presence at Sandefjord Airport has made it among the fastest-growing airports in Scandinavia.

Wizz Air is plotting an even more aggressive expansion agenda, focused on Central and Eastern Europe, to capitalise on the demise of competitor, SkyEurope, in Aug-2009, and overall capacity reductions by rival airlines in response to the global economic crisis.

Ryanair plans new bases at Leeds Bradford and Malta

Ryanair recently announced plans to expand its bases, adding another in the UK and one in Malta. The move supports the carrier’s recent announcements of capacity cut backs at Manchester, London Stansted and Dublin International Airports.
