London Oxford Airport (known also as Oxford Airport and Kidlington Airport) serves the city of Oxford and the surrounding Thames Valley region in the UK. The airport also serves the London metropolitan area and is located 40 miles north-west of Heathrow Airport. Oxford Airport is dominated by general and business aviation activities, with the airport offering VIP lounges, amenities and services for this sector. Flight training is also a major activity at Oxford, with Europe's largest training school Oxford Aviation Academy based at the facility. Oxford Airport has recently shifted its focus to the scheduled commercial service market, changing its name to "London Oxford" to capitalise on its proximity to the London region and offer an alternative to London's congested airports.
