The Faroe Islands located in the heart of the Gulf Stream in the North Atlantic are part of the kingdom of Denmark. Atlantic Airways is the national carrier with its hub at Vágar Airport (the only airport). The Danish owned company NAVAIR conducts air navigation for the Faroe Islands and the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (Denmark) is the government body.
