Air Lease Corporation is a Los Angeles-based aircraft leasing start-up and a member of Air Lease Alliance. Set up in 2010 by ILFC founder and former CEO Steven Udvar-Hazy, Air Lease Corporation made its first aircraft order at the 2010 Farnborough Air Show, ordering 136 Airbus, Boeing, ATR and Embraer aircraft valued at over USD10 billion. Udvar-Hazy has stated that the company will place 90% of its focus outside the US to tap into higher-growth markets. The lessor expects to have a fleet of over 100 aircraft by spring 2011.
