Alenia Aeronautica is an aerospace firm owned by Italian industrial and hi-tech conglomerate Finmeccanica. Alenia Aeronautica is a major aerospace design, engineering and investor, with interests in commercial, defence, UAV, upgrades and MRO, aerospace simulation technology and logistics. Alenia collaborates with EADS, Airbus, Boeing, ATR and Bombardier to design and build advanced aerostructures. As an investor, Alenia has interests training aircraft through its subsidiary Alenia Aermacchi. Alenia owns 50% of Toulouse-based regional aircraft manufacturer ATR and most recently Alenia launched Superjet International, a joint venture partnership with the Russian company Sukhoi to develop and market the Sukhoi Superjet 100.
