Airports of Thailand pax up 8%; Shanghai Airport pax rises 33.6% year-on-year

Airports of Thailand (AoT) shares rose by 1.3% on Friday (20-Aug-2010) after reporting the following traffic highlights in Jul-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 4.7 million, +8% year-on-year;
  • Cargo volume: 121,223 tonnes, +28.2%;
  • Aircraft movements: 31,645, +7.5%

China’s Shanghai Pudong International Airport (-3%) reported the following traffic highlights in Jul-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 3.9 million, +33.6% year-on-year;
    • Domestic: 2.0 million, +29.5%;
    • International: 1.3 million, +36.9%;
    • Regional: 525,900, +42.3%;
  • Cargo volume: 273,700 tonnes, +22.9%;
    • Domestic: 28,200 tonnes, -15.6%;
    • International: 208,100 tonnes, +29.3%;
    • Regional: 37,400 tonnes, +32.2%;
  • Aircraft movements: 29,533, +14.2%;
    • Domestic: 15,582, +12.7%;
    • International: 10,554, +17.1%;
    • Regional: 3,102, +16.2%.

Asia Pacific airport operator shares were a mixed bag on Friday with Xiamen (-3.1%) and MAp (-2.3%) shares down while shares for Malaysia Airports (+0.4%) gained.
