Delta, United, Continental - US airline shares take a breather ahead of busy earnings week

US carrier shares had a quiet day (at least by the standards of the volatile Wall Street Casino). Shares in Delta and United, which are due to report their first quarter earnings tomorrow (Tuesday), rose 0.6% and declined 0.3% last Friday, respectively.

Wednesday will see reports from Continental (+1.8% on Friday) and UPS (-2.3%). US Airways gained 4.2% last Friday. It is due to report its first quarter earnings report on Thursday along with AirTran (+2.6%). JetBlue (+0.9%) reports on Friday.
