Mexico’s ASUR joins Chinese airports’ weak performance, Aeroports de Paris rises

Airport shares worldwide slid further in trading yesterday with Mexico’s airport operator, ASUR leading the decline, sliding 4.6%. Chinese airports continued their descent with Guangzhou and Shenzhen airports closing down 2.8% and 2.4%, respectively.

Beijing Airport went against the trend, gaining 1.7%.

Auckland international pax down, domestic up

Elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region, Auckland Airport’s shares fell 2.1% following the release of its mixed Aug-2009 traffic results:

  • Passenger numbers:
    • Domestic: 470,024, +3.7% year-on-year;
    • International: 577,838, -4.0%;
  • Aircraft movements:
    • Domestic: 9,299, -7.0%:
    • International: 3,628, +6.1%.

In Europe, BAA parent, Ferrovial, lost ground, easing 1.0%, while Fraport dropped 0.9%. Positive performers in the region included the Italian airport operators, Aeroporto di Firenze (+1.8%) and Aeroporto di Venezia (+2.2%).
