Phase I expansion of Madinah International Airport to open in 2014

In late Oct-2009, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) confirmed Phase I of Madinah Prince Mohammad bin Abdul Aziz International Airport’s USD2.4 billion expansion programme is scheduled to be completed in 2014. Director General of Business Development and Properties at Domestic Airports, Ala Samman, stated a build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract for the project will be awarded in Oct-2010. [640 words]
