Swire Pacific has invested USD12.1 million to buy an additional 5.05 million shares in Cathay Pacific, increasing its stake in the carrier from 73.0% to 73.1% on 11-Mar-2011. Swire Pacific Chairman Christopher Pratt has also announced that the company may increase its stake in Air China in the future. Swire has an 18.4% shareholding in Air China. Cathay Pacific shares were up 0.7% on Monday, while Air China shares gained 1%.
India’s Directorate General Civil Aviation reported the following Indian domestic traffic highlights in Feb-2011:
- Passenger numbers: 4.6 million, +18.5% year-on-year;
- Seat factor:
- Air India: 68%;
- Jet Airways: 76.5%;
- JetLite: 80.2%;
- Kingfisher: 83.6%;
- SpiceJet: 81%;
- GoAir: 87.1%
- IndiGo: 87.6%.
