Like Malev, the Polish national carrier’s focus for much of its history was directed by the Soviet affiliated regime that remained in power until the 1990s. That meant state control over all aspects of operation and control; Russian built fleets, little concern focus on efficiency or cost control and a home market that was far from being open to the global community.
