
US airline stocks were lower on Friday, with the exception of Allegiant. US Airways fell 2.4% despite reporting a record May load factor and a stronger RASM performance than the previous month.
US Airways reported mainline revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for May-2011 were 5.6 billion, up 7.4% year-on-year. Mainline capacity rose 4.4%, resulting in a record mainline passenger load factor of 85.2%, up 2.3 ppts on May-2010.
US Airways' May consolidated (mainline and Express) passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) increased approximately 11% against the same period last year, following a 6% increase in Apr-2011.
