
WestJet reports 2.4 ppt decrease in load factor in 1H2009

WestJet reported a load factor of 72.9% in Jun-2009 (-3.6 ppts), as traffic (RPMs) decreased 7.1% year-on-year, on a 2.5% reduction in capacity (ASMs). This led to a load factor of 76.1% in 2Q2009 (-3.4 ppts), as traffic decreased 2.4%, on a 1.9% increase in capacity. 1H2009 load factor totalled 78.3% (-2.4 ppts), as traffic increased 1.3%, on a 4.5% increase in capacity.
