Direct News Source

18-Mar-2012 To all Airframe Union employees - Ville Saint-Laurent - March 18, 2012

We regret to advise you that as of March 18, 2012, Aveos Fleet Performance Inc. ("Aveos") has ceased the operation of its Airframe Maintenance facilities in Montréal, Winnipeg and Vancouver. As a result, effective immediately, you are being placed on permanent lay-off status. You are no longer required to report to the workplace.

If any bumping options are applicable to your personal situation, these will be communicated to you by mail or phone in the coming days.

Subject to relevant court orders, you will receive your final pay by direct deposit.

The Canada Industrial Relations Board award of January 31, 2011, order 9996-U appendix A refers to a Heavy Maintenance Separation Program to be offered by Air Canada, to which you may be entitled. We suggest that you contact your Union if you think you may be entitled to this program.

All Company property that is in your possession including your AOA card, access card, keys, parking stickers, and any material loaned to you by the Company must be returned. You will find the schedule to do this at www.aveos.com. Your Clearance checklist will be completed. If you are unable to do this at the time posted on the web site, please contact your local manager to arrange a drop off.
