Avianca and Taca transport 20.7 million passengers in 2011

24-Jan-2012 In December 2011 the airlines transported 1,901,083 passengers, an increase of 11.9% on the December 2010 figure of 1,698,205 passengers.

In the January-December 2011 period, Avianca, Taca and their subsidiaries registered a 17.8% increase in passenger numbers, from 17,612,187 during 2010, to 20,751,261 in the twelve calendar months of 2011.

Domestic markets in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador
In December 2011 the subsidiaries of AviancaTaca Holding S.A. registered an 18.1% passenger increase in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador flying 1,077,636 passengers. ASK* capacity grew by 22.6%.

During the 2011 calendar year (January-December), the total passengers on AviancaTaca routes within Colombia, Peru and Ecuador rose by 11,337,905, an increase of 23.4% compared to the number of passengers transported in these markets during 2010.

International Market
In December 2011, Avianca, Taca and their subsidiaries transported 823,447 people on international routes. This is equivalent to a 4.8% increase on the number of passengers transported to destinations abroad in December 2010.

In January-December 2011, Avianca, Taca and member airlines transported 9,413,356 passengers on their international network, representing an increase of 11.7% compared to the same period the previous year. ASK capacity grew by 11.8%.
