29-Dec-2011 Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited ("HAECO", Stock Code: 00044) welcomes the results of the Hong Kong International Airport ("HKIA") Master Plan 2030 public consultation, which was conducted by The University of Hong Kong. 73% of the respondents prefer the three-runway option. Over 80% of the respondents agree that HKIA should continue to be expanded to cope with the future air traffic demand.

Mr. Augustus Tang, Chief Executive Officer of HAECO, said: "Building of the third runway is of vital importance to expansion of the airport's capacity. This will undoubtedly benefit a long term and unconstrained growth of the airport and therefore uphold Hong Kong's position as the regional and international leading aviation centre."

For more than 60 years, HAECO is the integral part of the HKIA and has been providing reliable and efficient aircraft engineering services to airlines all over the world. HKIA's long term growth will give rise to HAECO's continued development, establishing Hong Kong as a centre of excellence for aeronautical engineering.

Mr. Tang added: "HAECO is pleased to see the positive results of the independent survey on the Master Plan 2030. We welcome the Hong Kong Airport Authority's recommendation to the HKSAR Government to adopt the three-runway option."
