Just Under 1.9M Passengers Used Dublin Airport in June

06-Jul-2012 Passenger throughput at Dublin Airport was just under 1.9 million in June, an increase of 3% on the same period last year, according to the Dublin Airport Authority.

Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe grew by 4% with more than 1 million passengers travelling to European destinations during the month. European volumes were boosted in part by fans travelling to support the Irish team in Euro 2012 in Poland.

UK traffic saw a 1% decline in passenger volumes, with just under 600,000 passengers travelling in June.

Transatlantic traffic to North America grew by 5% with almost 180,000 passengers travelling on this route sector in June. Other international passenger traffic, which covers flights to the Middle East, increased by 100% with almost 43,000 passengers travelling this route sector in June.

Passenger numbers on domestic routes declined by 66% with 5,000 passengers taking domestic flights last month.

Almost 9 million passengers travelled through Dublin Airport in the first six months of the year, a decline of less than 1% compared with the same period last year.
