16-Nov-2011 Norwegian (NAS) continues its expansion in the Nordic region and opens a new base at Sandefjord Torp Airport, south of Oslo. At the same time the airline launches eight new routes from the airport, in addition to the existing two.

"Norwegian sees a considerable potential both in the business and leisure segments in the greater Torp area, with its approximate population of 650,000. That's why we will base one aircraft at Torp from March 2012 and launch eight new routes," said CEO Bjørn Kjos at Norwegian.

One Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be based at Torp with the launch of the summer schedule 2012. Norwegian has growth ambitions at Torp.

The new routes from Torp are Bergen; Trondheim; Evenes; Berlin; Palma; Las Palmas; Antalya and Nice. Norwegian also operates non-stop flights to Alicante and Malaga from Torp.

When the new routes start at Torp 80 percent of Norwegian's fleet will be WiFi equipped, making it easy for passengers to work online at 30,000 feet.
