ANPAC: Alitalia pilots and cabin crew to strike on 25-May-2015

Alitalia pilot and cabin crew union ANPAC announced (22-May-2015) plans to conduct a 24-hour strike on 25-May-2015 across the carrier's entire network, with the exception of operations at Bari, Brindisi and Genoa. ANPAC stated it does "not consider adequate" the guarantess provided by Alitalia on staffing levels following the end of solidarity contracts which expire in Feb-2016. The union also objects to the carrier's decision to wet lease aircraft from Blue Air. ANPAC said: "We will not accept compromises or ambiguous choices that can generate more employment problems, as we will not stop protecting the interests of pilots and flight attendants of CityLiner, who are entitled to a proper homogenisation of their pay system with that of their colleagues of Alitalia, until a satisfactory contractual agreement is reached."
