29-Sep-2009 Ten-year-contract for Boeing 777.

Lufthansa Technik AG and Air Canada have signed a ten-year-contract for component services of Boeing 777 long-range aircraft. With immediate effect, Lufthansa Technik will provide Total Component Support TCS® for six Boeing 777-200LR and twelve Boeing 777-300ER of Air Canada.

Under the TCS® agreement, Lufthansa Technik's experts will take care of supplying numerous components in the fleet, from writing specifications, initial provisioning studies and home base allocation to repair and overhaul, troubleshooting, documentation and engineering services.

Gilles Néron, Director Strategy and Commercial of Air Canada, said: "The experience of Lufthansa Technik and its high quality standards concerning technical services for Boeing 777 aircraft convinced us of this collaboration."

"We are proud and happy that we won the trust of Air Canada, the largest airline in the Canadian market", said Wolfgang Weynell, Vice President Marketing and Sales of Lufthansa Technik. "I am confident that our product Total Component Support TCS® will totally meet the high expectations of our customer."

The new agreement on component services strengthens the well-proven collaboration of Air Canada with the Lufthansa Technik Group. In 2008, Shannon Aerospace, the Irish subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, overhauled certain Air Canada aircraft and Lufthansa Technik's American affiliate, Hawker Pacific, has serviced landing gears for the airline.
