Tiger Airways Australia's expansion continues with the arrival of the airline's 7th A320 aircraft in Australia and the recent recruitment of 30 new jobs as the airline continues to buck the trend and grow while other airlines cut back capacity.

The new aircraft will enable the airline to double the flight frequencies into Sydney from both Melbourne and Adelaide from this Sunday 4 October 2009.

Tiger Airways Australia Managing Director, Shelley Roberts, says that the 7th Australian aircraft (and 5th Melbourne based aircraft) is a welcome addition to the fleet.

"Customer demand for our low fare model has been overwhelming - we'd like to thank the people of Australia who have flown with Tiger Airways as their first choice of low fare airlines in Australia - well over two million passengers in less than two years of operation is a phenomenal result."

Tiger Airways is the newest major domestic airline in Australia with the newest fleet- the average age of all seven aircraft is under three years old.

The 7th Australian aircraft will provide almost half a million additional seats through Melbourne Airport and the State of Victoria. Thirty new flight and cabin crew positions have been created at Tiger's home base in Melbourne.

Ms Roberts adds "there has never been a better time to grab one of our $28* fares to come shopping in Melbourne or visit the Opera House in Sydney. Our $39* flights between Adelaide and Sydney provide affordable travel options to catch up with family and friends. If you have a business and have a team that travels often, Tiger's new schedule with up to nine services a day will suit your diary as well as your back pocket," she says.

With the additional aircraft, Tiger Airways is doubling the frequency of flights to Sydney from both Melbourne (up to nine flights daily in each direction) and Adelaide (twice daily in each direction) from this Sunday, as the result of strong customer demand.

Tiger Airways is currently selling airfares between Melbourne and Sydney from just $28* and between Adelaide and Sydney from just $39.*
