08-Dec-2009 Midwest Airlines is expanding its existing codeshare program with Frontier Airlines to include every city on both the Midwest and Frontier route networks. With expansion, travelers will soon have the ability to book their flights on a single ticket to 63 total Midwest and Frontier destinations.

Midwest's "YX" code has been placed on most of the Frontier network (except Kansas City routes and international flights) for nonstop itineraries. Similarly, Frontier's "F9" code has been placed on most of the Midwest network (except Kansas City routes) for nonstop itineraries. Later this month, one-stop codeshare itineraries will be available for sale on the same routes.

Frontier's international routes and Kansas City routes will be added to the codeshare in the coming months, as will double-connect itineraries. At that time, customers of both airlines will have full access to the combined Midwest and Frontier route networks.

Travelers can purchase tickets now for travel beginning Dec. 13. For flight information and reservations, visit midwestairlines.com, call the Midwest Airlines Contact Center at 800-452-2022 or contact a travel consultant.

"Now that Midwest and Frontier are wholly owned subsidiaries of Republic Airways, they are allowed to expand their joint codeshare program as fully affiliated carriers," explained Greg Aretakis, vice president of Revenue Production. "This is a very positive enhancement for our customers. It provides them convenient access to a substantial number of additional destinations - from snowy Aspen to sunny Mexico."

Aretakis added that Midwest's reciprocal frequent flyer agreement with Frontier allows members of the Midwest Miles and the Frontier Early Returns programs to earn and redeem miles on either airline, providing travelers additional flexibility.
