19-Jan-2010 Aer Lingus today announced that Niall Walsh, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer will leave the company with immediate effect to pursue other interests.

Christoph Mueller, Aer Lingus Chief Executive Officer will assume responsibility for the duties of the Chief Operating Officer for a temporary period. Fergus Wilson, Chief Engineer, who has recently completed the successful integration of SRT Line Maintenance operations will resume executive responsibilities and will assist the CEO in this task.

The role of Deputy Chief Executive will be discontinued. Aer Lingus will immediately commence an external search for a new Chief Operating Officer.

Christoph Mueller said: "I would like to thank Niall for his 16 years of dedicated service to Aer Lingus and wish him well for the future".
