Germanwings announcement of pilots’ strike

Direct News Source

Due to a strike announced by the German pilots union ‘Vereinigung Cockpit’ Germanwings expects that its flights from 22nd February to 25th February 2010 may be affected. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to customers by this action.

Germanwings is doing its utmost to minimise delays and has prepared a substitute flight plan to safeguard as many flights as possible.

Substitute flight timetable - free re-booking - contact

If you have booked a Germanwings flight before February 16th for traveling between the 22nd and 25th February 2010, and your flight is affected by the strike, Germanwings will amend your booking once free of charge to another Germanwings flight before the 25th March 2010. Your origin and destination must remain unchanged and the original flight must have been booked until February 16th. A full list of Germanwings' international contact numbers is available here.

If our call center lines are busy, you can re-book your flight online under My Germanwings. Any rebooking charges, together with the price difference between your existing flight and the new one will be reimbursed. Customers are, therefore, kindly requested to send their confirmation and booking number to:

Germanwings GmbH, Customer Relations, Germanwings-Str. 2, 51147 Cologne

If your flight is cancelled during the strike, we will naturally reimburse the ticket price. The refund will be given when your cancellation request arrives with us, after the original departure date of the flight.
