Vienna International Airport: 9.0% increase in passengers during March 2010

15-Apr-2010 The number of passengers handled at Vienna International Airport increased 9.0% year-on-year to 1,492,135 during March 2010.
Flight movements rose by 3.0%, maximum take-off weight (MTOW) by 7.7% and cargo by 32.6%. The number of local passengers increased 9.7% to 1,048,337. Transfer traffic at Vienna International Airport was 7.8% higher than in March 2009.
The number of passengers travelling to Eastern Europe increased 12.9% in comparison with March 2009, and again demonstrates the importance of this segment as a key driver for passenger traffic at Vienna International Airport. The number of passengers travelling to destinations in Western Europe increased 9.2% and traffic to the Middle East rose by 22.4% in March 2010.
