Disruption to Newcastle Airport due to volcanic ash - update
19-Apr-2010 National Air Traffic Services (NATS) have now advised that the airspace over the UK will remain closed until 01:00 (local time) tomorrow, Tuesday 20 April, at the earliest.
All arrivals into Newcastle are cancelled until further notice. Similarly, all departures are either cancelled or subject to rescheduling.
Our advice for passengers with flights from Newcastle is still to contact their airline or to check our website for flight information at www.newcastleinternational.co.uk.
At this stage we are unaware of how long this disruption will continue, and we are in regular contact with National Air Traffic Services and the Met Office. The team at Newcastle International are as disappointed and concerned as our customers that this situation is continuing.
