Most Malév flights launched
20-Apr-2010 With due consideration to the recent changes in airspace restrictions imposed within the European Union, Malév is launching services to those destinations where it is totally safe to operate flights from navigational and meteorological aspects.
The airline is also planning relief flights to Tel Aviv and Moscow.
The airline is initiating flights to most of its destinations today. Aircraft are flying to the Balkans and countries in eastern and southern Europe as well as the Middle East. In addition, it is arranging services to Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid and Berlin.
"We welcome the new practice formulated on the initiative of the ministers of the European Union, whereby regulation of the use of airspace is far more realistic than earlier," said Malév Chief Operational Officer Géza Fehérváry.
The Hungarian carrier also plans to operate relief flights to Tel Aviv and Moscow. These relief flights are primarily designed for those passengers who were affected by flight cancellations over the past few days. The airline is also examining further possible relief flights.
Today, Malév was forced to cancel its morning flights and a further nine daytime services (Helsinki - 742 and 744, Hamburg - 542, Copenhagen - 752, London - 614, Milan - 416, Stockholm - 766, Frankfurt - 522, Dublin - 622).
