Direct News Source

20-Apr-2010 Based upon the latest information received from National Air Traffic Services, restrictions to parts of the UK airspace due to the volcanic ash cloud, including at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA), will now remain in place until 01:00 on Wednesday 21st April.

The Airport is now preparing for flights to recommence tomorrow morning (Wednesday 21st) and is awaiting further information from airlines as to what flights may operate. However, passengers due to travel should only come to the Airport once the departure of their flight has been confirmed by their airline. Passengers are strongly advised to contact their airline for the latest information regarding particular flights.

Should flights resume tomorrow, the Airport advises that those passengers whose flights have been confirmed, arrive 2-3 hours before their departure, in order to allow plenty of time to pass through the airport due to the large numbers of passengers who may be travelling.

A further update from NATS regarding these ongoing airspace restrictions is expected at 9pm this evening.
