Nasair announces launch of India operations

01-May-2010 Nasair, the leading Saudi smart airline announced the official launch of its India operations at an elegant event in Mumbai.

Nasair is the first budget carrier to offer direct flights to Riyadh and Jeddah.

Nasair owned by private aviation group, National Air Services (NAS Holding), has entered the carrier market with a strong expansion strategy for India. The airline, which commenced Indian operations with four flights a week on Mumbai - Riyadh route from beginning of April has plans to connect Kochi, Kozhikode and New Delhi in the coming months. Nasair is also offering a connect flights services to reach Jeddah and other destinations domestically and internationally.

Nasair, the smart choice airline will commence three flights a week on Kochi - Riyadh route from June 1, 2010, four flights a week between Kozhikode - Riyadh starting July 1, 2010 and three flights a week on New Delhi - Riyadh route from August 1, 2010. The company currently operates Airbus A320 on Mumbai-Riyadh sector with 180 passenger seat capacity.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sulaiman Abdullah Al CHamdan CEO, National Air Services (NAS Holding), said:

"India is a key market for us and we are extremely happy to announce our launch in India. Nasair has commenced its operations on Mumbai-Riyadh sector and would soon expand its footprint across key routes across the country."

People travelling from India to Saudi Arabia have seen an impressive increase over the years and Nasair would offer world class hospitality at extremely competitive fares. The company will also undertake distribution of tickets through web based sales model in the Indian market, Mr. Al-Hamdan added.

The mother company National Air Services (NAS Holding) company has recently, obtained regulatory approval to become a closed shareholding company in a first step toward selling a stake to the public.
